The Brand Vision as-Is in the University Guide

The Editorial Policy Is “Thoroughly, Open Up.”

We created the university guide based on Hokkaido University of Science’s vision, “Thoroughly, Open Up.” Through interviews with students from all 12 departments, we collected honest words and glimpses of everyday life. The content highlights each student’s individuality, including hobbies, part-time jobs, and aspirations for the future. We also conducted interviews with professors, staff, and alumni to capture the thoughts of the people who shape the university. The booklet, titled “THIS IS HUS,” expresses the character and life of those at Hokkaido University of Science in a single volume.

Delivering Honest Words and True Faces as They Are

We focused on the students’ genuine voices, intentionally leaving their statements unedited to convey the full range of emotions—their enthusiasm, anxieties, dreams, and everyday life. For photography, we used film cameras and street-style snapshots, and also requested photo contributions from students and professors. To reflect the brand vision, “Thoroughly, Open Up,” the design embraces a mix of styles, allowing for a diverse and authentic visual expression.
