"Honest, Straightforward, and Earnest": Expressing the Personality of the Shop Owner
Valuing Regulars While Welcoming New Encounters
“Sushi Musou,” located in Sapporo’s Chuo Ward, a fiercely competitive sushi district, is a reservation-only restaurant loved by its regular customers. Until now, the restaurant has not had a website, valuing the trust and relationships built directly with visitors. However, its deliciousness has spread by word of mouth, and reservations from first-time customers have been increasing. The owner thought, “If people are making the effort to come, I want even first-time visitors to enjoy it more.” With this in mind, he decided to take the first step in creating a website to showcase the restaurant’s proud sushi selections and convey the passion behind the shop.
The Design Reflects the Owner's Personality
In creating the website, we reflected the owner’s personality—“never pandering, sincere, straightforward, and earnest”—in every detail, from the color palette to the choice of fonts. The business cards were also newly designed following the same concept. For the “Commitment” section, the team visited suppliers with a photographer and conducted on-site research. Each ingredient’s background and the passion of its producers are carefully introduced through photos and text. This “Commitment” content will continue to grow gradually over time. Whether regular customers or first-time visitors, anyone who visits the website can feel the atmosphere of the restaurant and the owner’s dedication. This was the goal we aimed to achieve with the website.
