Incorporating the Aomori ↔ Hakodate Route Directly into the Logo Design

Seikan Ferry has long operated ferries connecting Aomori and Hakodate. Until now, the service was run by separate companies, but following a merger, it was reborn as Seikan Ferry Co., Ltd. On this milestone, we were commissioned to create the company’s VI (Visual Identity). The design concept embodies two ideas: “bringing together the Aomori and Hakodate companies as one” and “being a ferry that connects Aomori and Hakodate.” This concept is directly reflected in the logo mark. The design links the “S” (from Seikan) and the “K” (from Seikan), forming a silhouette of a ferry. The slogan, “Connecting Across Japan,” conveys the pride and determination to safely and reliably navigate the Tsugaru Strait.
