
Bold, Unprecedented Admissions Promotion Targeted at High School Students

Promoting the Department’s Appeal Through Dance × Rap
This project started with the challenge of “increasing application rates for the engineering department.” We proposed a concept called the “Department Showdown PR Battle,” combining dance—which high school students frequently see on social media—with rap. With the cooperation of the university dance club, original dances were created themed around each department. For the videos, we commissioned lyrics from Anchi, a rapper based in Sapporo. Focusing on the students’ authentic perspectives, we conducted interviews to capture the real appeal and thoughts of current students. These drafts were then refined by Anchi to create polished lyrics. By incorporating words from the students’ viewpoint, we added entertainment value to the department introductions, aiming not just for awareness but for engagement and enjoyment.
